Located at the corner of Wealthy Street and Fuller

Unfortunately, as of May 2012 Sandmann’s has been closed down. In honor the fine establishment it was, I will continue to leave this post on my blog. 🙂

So here it is, my first official food posting- and what have I chosen? A place where you can get MORE than your fill of soul food, anytime…. Sandmann’s!

This quaint little restaurant is located on the Southeast corner of Wealthy Street and Fuller between downtown and Eastown. If you love BBQ, then you’ll find a slice of Heaven here at Sandmann’s 🙂

Sandmann’s began in the early 1990’s when Randall Sandifer and Ursula Mann-Sandifer began selling chicken and BBQ rib dinners at local festivals and to factory employees! In 2000, they joined their names together and opened the official restaurant! They are committed to serving their customers a spin on traditional family recipes as well as Ursula’s secret special BBQ sauce!

When driving by, you can smell the aroma of the charcoal grill that is slowly cooking the ribs! Aside from ribs, Sandmann’s offers fried chicken, seafood and other deep fried treats (onion rings, french fries, mozzarella sticks, etc). However, regardless of anything you choose to order, you absolutely MUST try their BBQ sauce! The BBQ sauce, especially on the ribs, is delicious! You can also buy it in a jar to take home to spice up your own cooking! And on Sundays, they offer an additional menu for their “Soul Food Sundays”!

During the summer there are picnic tables set up outside at which to eat, or you can call and place an order to take to the comfort of your own home! And if you’re searching for someone to cater an event, Sandmann’s would be the perfect summer food! Chicken, baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw- all great for a summer gathering!

All in all, Sandmann’s is a great place to go if you’re craving some comfort soul food! Try it out, you won’t be disappointed!
